Too Straight To Be Gay

TRUTH:

We just love stories of real gay men being knocked back from playing gay roles on TV because they're "not gay enough". It chips at the stereotypical lies we're taught by the media.

John Barrowman, who plays Captain Jack Harkness in the Torchwood series, was under consideration for the role of Will in the popular US series Will and Grace. The producers felt he was "too straight", so the role went to Eric McCormack instead.

John has also been with his partner Scott Gill since 1993 and they had a civil partnership ceremony in 2006. So much for gay men being fickle...
